Thank you for your ongoing interest and participation
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the brief survey we recently sent about GLP-1 medications used for weight loss. Whether or not you have used the medications, your response helps researchers better understand participants’ experiences with these medications.
GLP-1 medications were originally developed to treat chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, but they are now also widely used for weight loss. As more people use these medications, interest increases among researchers who want to better understand how well they work for different individuals and what factors may affect outcomes.
In this the newsletter, we’re pleased to profile physician-scientist Dr. David Arterburn, at KP Washington, who is using Research Bank data to study how genetics may influence the effectiveness and side effects of GLP-1 medications for weight loss and type 2 diabetes.
Research discoveries rely on a great deal of behind-the-scenes work. In this edition, we also describe how Kaiser Permanente electronic health records are carefully transformed into scientific data that support this kind of innovative research.
And as always, we provide summaries of newly approved and funded studies that will use Research Bank data.
Thank you for your ongoing interest and participation.
